Student Weekly Announcements

August 24-28, 2026

Weekly schedule for PBJHS from August 24-28, 2026, detailing practices and events.

Welcome to the First Week of School!

WELCOME
Welcome Back!  It is great to have you at PBJHS! I’m looking forward to a fantastic year and getting to learn and grow alongside you!

School Starting Time
School starts at 7:30 each morning.  Please arrive on time!  The doors open at 7:00 AM.

Phone Pouches
The Governor of Missouri passed a law that bans cell phones in the classroom.  Phones will stay locked up in the Yondr Pouches and students will carry those with them all day.  Students who damage their pouch will have to pay for a replacement ($30). Click here to read the parent letter. Students who state they do not have a phone will need to have a parent come by the office to sign a paper stating that.  Make sure to review the cell phone policy here and know the consequences!

Backpacks
All students will need a backpack for school. Backpacks will be locked in academic lab classrooms during lunchtime. No backpacks will be allowed in the cafeteria.

School Supplies
Please click here to see the school supply list for each grade level. Please take the supplies to your ac lab teacher.

Attendance
Our attendance policy will be strictly enforced. Students are only allowed to miss 12 days per year (doctor’s notes or not), before summer school kicks in. Improving school attendance is a BIG focus this year! Please make every effort to be here every day possible. Click here for the official attendance letter for parents.

Girls Basketball Tryouts
Tryouts will be from 3-5 after school on August 26th and 27th. Girls must have a physical on file to try out.

Yearbook Sales
Yearbooks are now on sale through November 14th for only $25! After this date, they will go up to $30, so take advantage of the special offer! Once yearbooks are delivered in May, there will be a signing party during school for all those who purchased a yearbook--don't be left out of the fun! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Mannon at lybbymannon@pbmules.com

Thank you to our parents
We want to thank you all so much if you donated sodas or waters for our teachers' first week back. If you’d still like to do this, please drop them off at the attendance office.

BREAKFAST Procedure
Students will enter the gymnasium and go to breakfast so they can go through the metal detectors. Students need to go straight to breakfast if eating. Once students are seated, they’ll need to stay seated in the bleachers.

Before School Seating
Students who arrive before 7:30 will sit in the gym until released to class.. Boys will be on one side and girls on the other side. Students must sit where the duty teacher tells them to sit. Once seated, that is where they will remain until released to head to homeroom.

Schedule Changes
This Friday, August 28nd will be the last day to make schedule changes. We do not do schedule changes for lunch shifts. There are 200 students in each lunch shift; make some new friends!

Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast and lunch will cost this year. If you are supposed to be on free or reduced lunch, please return those forms ASAP! Breakfast will be $1.70 and lunch will be $2.45. If you are on reduced meal prices, they are as follows: Breakfast .30 and Lunch is .40

First Day Bus Procedures
All students who ride a bus to school on the first day will receive a bracelet with the bus number on it. Please do not lose this so that you will know which bus to ride home. If you are riding a different bus home, please let the office know.

Daily Bell Schedule
Please click here to see the daily bell schedule.
Chain of Command
If parents or guardians have classroom concerns, they must reach out to the classroom teacher first via email, phone, or conference. If the issue cannot be resolved, then parents may make an appointment with the principal or assistant principal to discuss the situation further.

Parent Communication
Parents and guardians will receive parent communication through ParentSquare, social media, phone calls, and emails. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teachers with questions. Communication with our families is our number one priority. If you did not receive a welcome email, please make sure the school has your correct email address on file by calling 785-5602

Chromebooks
Chromebooks will be used in classrooms only. Students will use a Chromebook from the cart and return it to the cart each hour. Students will not be issued a Chromebook to carry around.
Chromebooks are school property. If a student intentionally damages a Chromebook, they will be responsible for replacement costs.

Lunch
Students, please make sure you are keeping your table clean and your trash picked up in the cafeteria. Remember to use the stairs to your left as you exit the lunchroom.

STUDENT HANDBOOK
You will be able to access your student handbook on Google Classroom. Please take time to read through this manual. We will have a handbook quiz in Academic Lab to see how well you read it. The house that scores the best will receive 20 points to start out the competition!  Click here to access the handbook.

SAFETY DRILLS
We will practice each of our drills in a relatively short time. However, each of your classes will be practicing drills and will continue to do so for this week. We hope there will never be any emergency at PBJHS, but if there ever is one, we want you to be prepared.

Passes
If you are in the hall during class time, you must have a hall pass from your teacher and have an active pass in Infinite Campus
